Piling Mats

Piling Mat Construction

We prepare formations and construct piling mats ahead of piling operations, ensuring you have a stable platform ready for the plant, access and levels needed on site.

Built around the wider groundworks

Piling mats need to be planned around the rest of the site, not treated as a separate task. Access, earthworks levels and the piling handover all have to line up before the piling contractor arrives.

If we’re already handling the bulk earthworks, we can include the piling mat in the same site preparation, so formation, access and platform levels are coordinated before piling starts.

Handover for piling

At the agreed stage, we hand over the working platform for the specialist contractor and the heavy plant using it. That means the working area, levels and access are ready for the next operation.

If an issue with soft spots, levels, access or sequencing needs a decision before the plant arrives, we flag it early.

Groundworks after piling

Once piling is finished, the platform may need regrading, trimming or removal in places before the next groundworks can carry on. We can take care of that rework as part of the handover, or continue straight into pile caps, ground beams, slabs or other follow-on works where they’re part of our remit.

That helps keep the next stage moving without leaving a gap between piling and the groundworks that follow.
