Retaining Structures
Retaining Wall Contractors
We carry out retaining wall construction for residential, commercial and civil engineering sites. Where needed, our team can also handle the excavation, drainage, backfill and reinstatement needed around the wall.

Earthworks and drainage
Retaining walls depend on the work around them being planned carefully, especially where access, drainage, backfill and levels affect the next stage of the site.
Keeping these operations within the same groundworks team reduces handovers between excavation, wall construction and reinstatement. It also means any issue with levels, access, drainage or backfill can be picked up by the people already dealing with the work, rather than being passed between separate contractors.
Inspection and records
Retaining works are controlled through setting out, supervision and agreed inspection points. We keep checks, sign-offs and handover information in order as the work progresses.

FAQs
What do you need for retaining works? +
We use the design, levels, excavation limits, drainage details, backfill specification and adjoining-work information. The appointed designer retains responsibility for the structural design unless our appointment says otherwise.
What is the difference between reinforced concrete, masonry and gravity walls? +
Reinforced concrete walls use steel reinforcement within concrete. Masonry walls use block or brickwork built to the design. Modular units are manufactured off site and are installed on site by us. The appointed designer specifies the system for the site.
